Is this Swelly belly?
After reading so much about swelly belly, I just want to be sure I know now what you are talking about. I seem to have a define stomach area in 3 different places. Above my belly button, below my belly button then this flap, numb, firm, inner tube area. Is this the swelly belly? I honestly have no feeling what-so-ever, when I scratch, it feels so firm & unnomal. I see by every ones comments it can last some time, is there anything that makes it go away faster? I am only 2wks po, but frightend that this is my body for the rest of my life.

Is this Swelly belly?
I don't know for sure, but I have something similar. I had my abdominal hysterectomy on Wednesday, November 2nd. The area between my "zipper" and my belly button is very swollen and totally numb. I'm also frightened that this will be my permanent tummy, but I'm taking it easy and just assuming it's temporary so that I don't stress unnecessarily. I'm not going to worry too much until a few months have passed and nothing has changed. Just remember it's been months or years of problems that lead up to this, plus you just had some serious trauma to your body in order to correct the original problems. Your body will need significant time to heal fully. I would recommend calling your gynecologist/surgeon to discuss your concerns and what you may be able to do to improve things while you wait for your six-week check-up. I know there are also sections on this site where you can read more experiences of others and lists of books to read to help. I'm still learning, so do some searches while you wait for others to reply with some of these links. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be happier with your new body even if it takes months for a full recovery!
