Am I Healing

OK, I am now 4 1/2 weeks post-op and I still haven't noticed any "stitches or foul odor" does this mean I'm not healing internally!?? I have a lot of pulling and tugging on my left side (had LSO) and its getting to be annoying. Dr thinks I pulled a muscle, and I see him 11/27. I will be 5 weeks when I see him. Are there any other "signs" to healing internally that any other HysterSister noticed that could put my mind at ease. I am now taking Ambien to sleep, because I'm not sleeping on account of being worried and scared about not healing. Please anyone can you help???

Am I Healing

I didn't notice stitches or a foul odor, either, and was healed just fine at my six week checkup.

Am I Healing

Hi Tina
Try not to worry. I didn't see any stitches either. Your body knows what it needs to do. You just need to give it the time it needs to heal.
Since you know you had an organ removed on that left side, it makes sense you could have some extra discomfort over there. Try some heat and see if it relieves it some.

You are still pretty early in your recovery. Take it easy and don't stress, please. I hope you get a good report from your dr. Let us know how it goes.
's, Rita

Am I Healing

I am now almost 2 1/2 months out and never passed any stiches that I noticed -- nor ever had a foul order -- so you do not have to have those things to know you are healing

Am I Healing

Tina, I never saw any stiches either & no fowl discharge. I kept waiting for the other shoes to drop especially on the bleeding issue. I never had any!
In the hosp. I only used 2 pads & that was just very light spotting & just an ever so slight pink tinge 1 day at 3 weeks. I have read soo many posts from women who are bleeding for weeks afterwards & post about bleeding after sex, again I keep waiting, will this happen to me!?! so far so good!

Try not to worry, I wondered about this too! I know it's easier said than done! I feel I'm begining to emerge from all the dread & worry I"ve had since all of this started. I've healed well & sex is great! I feel better and there is life beyond recovery. I do have some bad hormone days but I'm learning they do pass.

Hugs to you & good luck!

Terry
