I think I cured my insomnia!!!

I like many of you have been suffering from insomnia since my ovaries were removed in February. I tried something new with my HRT and for more than 2 weeks now I have been sleeping like a rock!!! It seems to be working so I thought I'd share.

I started on .625 premarin - felt great except no sleep.

Switched to 1 mg Estradiol - felt great and sleeping - yea...so I thought! I started running in earnest again and within a few months, zits, PMS and NO sleep.
I upped my Estradiol by .25 - no change.

So then I really started thinking about how I never have hot flashes during the day, but at night I can't sleep and I get SO hot. I started thinking my HRT was wearing off before bedtime since I was taking it in the am.

So now I am taking 1 mg in the morning and .5 after dinner. After the first few days I started sleeping sporadic for a few days and now.....every night!!! And I don't get hot anymore at night!!

I hope this is helpful to someone else out there!

I think I cured my insomnia!!!

It sounds great. i know I asked my gyn about splitting my dose (when it was a higher dose) and she was adamant that I not do it. Since my hyster I have found her lacking... I hadn't seen her much before either.

I am glad it is working for you. maybe I will take my tiny dose at bedtime instead of the am. I would rather have hot flashes during the day then at bedtime.

I think I cured my insomnia!!!

Sue - after I go the idea myself, I posted on the hormone board and found one other ldy that was doing it. I towrked for her too. In any casye, I din't even ask my Dr, I just did it and for now it is working and I am thrilled!

I feel better all the way around too. My PMS symptoms are better and I'm not sure if that is because I am sleeping or what but I'll take it!

Good luck to you,
