Almost 3 1/2 wks post op

and i want to know when i can start really exercising, not just walking around the block. i am about 75 to 100 pounds overweight and with the sedentary (ness) of the surgery and recovery i just feel horrible about myself. i want to join a gym and maybe do bike, light weights and treadmill or ellyptical trainer machines. how long post op can i do this? 8 wks? more? less? i am anxious to join. one just opened near my house and i'm sick of being fat. .lol.

Hi!

I know you are feeling bad about yourself, but remember that you are still early in the recovery stage and recovery takes time. You only get this one chance to fully recover, you might as well do it right.

The best person to ask is your doctor. Everyone is so different and each doctor has specific instructions for each patient. My doctor didn't want me to do any type of strenuous exercise for a while so walking was the best option for me and he was all for it.

I hope you continue to have a good recovery.

s, Deb
