IVP test during PreOp

Did any of you girls have to have an IVP test to check your kidneys? I just wondered what to expect. I guess I'm worried about being allergic to the dye. I do have allergies to sulfa and a couple of other drugs but I've never had any tests that involved dye so I guess I'll find out. My doctor's office knows about my allergies and didnt seem concerned so I guess I shouldnt, right? Liz

It's good that your dr is aware of your allergies but I'd mention them again to the person who actually administers the test - best to be cautious IMO.
