Wednesday is the day!

I am oh so happy that I have been stuck packing and moving, it has kept my head off of surgery. I still have plenty of busy work to do today, then tomorrow it can all settle in and hopefully I will not be over consumed with the possibilities of the next morning.

It did dawn on me Saturday that maybe I should not be taking ibuprofen before surgery. So I have not taken any since, but it was not listed on my pre-op paperwork and no one mentioned it. I am a red head and have learned that tends to give me a natural predisposition for bleeding issues. I am not sure if 400 mg is any big deal, but makes me wonder.

Good luck to all those who have surgery this week, wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

Good luck and happy healing. Call your doctors office about the ibuprofen if you're concerned.

Re: Wednesday is the day!

I would ask your doc about ibuprofen. It was on my list of medications not to take, along with asprin, vitamin E, fish oil, flax seed, and more.

Good luck. We will be waiting for you on the other side....

Yes, being a redhead gives us all sort of fun "extras". In my family it not only is it the bleeding issues but we also require a higher dosage of anesthesia, pain meds, etc. Even my doctor confirmed that redheads are more prone to bleeding issues (heavier, prolonged) so you may want to let them know about the ibuprofen just to be safe.

Good luck from one redhead to another!
