5 1/2 weeks post hysterectomy (TAH) update

I am finding I can do quite a bit more this week but I still tire easily and hurt at the end of the day if I do too much. I can go to the store but I still ride the handicap carts because I'm afraid I will hurt after waking around a huge store. I don't want to that until about 8 weeks. I can finally sleep laying down but it is hard to move to the other side or back still. I can make myself breakfast and lunch but usually too tired to make dinner. I only shower every other day because it is still exhausting and feels like it takes up most of my day. I still have the swelly belly flap over my incision but incision itself looks really good. I'm 2 days off my Norco and I'm feeling a little bit of withdrawal symptoms. I feel like I'm coming down with a cold, chills, and sweating. I called my doc to ask how to wean off them and she was no help and got upset that I was still taking them. She said to take them as needed and I just didn't need them much so they lasted longer. I'm not used to meds at all. I rarely took Advil or Tylenol. She did prescribe me more promethazine so I guess they help with the withdrawal symptoms. I still have to use my arms a lot to get me from laying down to sitting up and still walking kind of slow, not first two weeks slow, but slow. It's like my legs have to learn how to move faster again. I try to go faster but my legs just won't let me. Does this all sound about right for 5 1/2 weeks?

Sounds like I was. It seems having a TAH takes longer to heal. I didn't feel a lot better till 3 months. I didn't have problems with the narcs as I had different ones. I was still taking them occasionally at night till 3 months. My job is pretty physically demanding. I still hurt when I get home at night.
