Something I didn't think about
My mother-in-law talked me down from this thought, but I wonder how irrational I am being.
I am afraid that the doctor is gonna get in there and not find anything wrong.
But I know something is wrong because of all the pain, and the bimanual exam showed a retroflexed uterus with some prolapse, and the cervical pain with coitus.
I'm nuts, I guess. But i can't help thinking that.

Even w/ all of my issues, I've had that same fear.
Crazy how our minds work.

Re: Something I didn't think about
I had the same thought/fear before surgery. I actually almost cancelled a couple times because I thought it was 'in my head'. Trust me it's not. It turns out that I had to have an appendectomy because my appendix was eaten by endo. ALL of my pelvic organs were adhered to my bowel. ALL were adhered to eachother. So I am sooooo glad I did what I did when I did it...you are having pain for a reason...don't doubt yourself. ;-)

Re: Something I didn't think about
Yeah, had the ultra sound, my left ovary is twisted up behind the retroflexed and falling out uterus. And I have bowel symptoms, so I suspect endo is there, or adhesions or whatever.
As far as everything goes, it's the only anxiety i'm having about this.

Re: Something I didn't think about
I can relate! I kept thinking "Do I really need to have this surgery?" beforehand. And afterwards, the answer was a resounding 'Yes'. Recovery is slow--but eventually, I will get there, and so will you!
Even if they find nothing else, you already have a diagnosis, a valid reason your doctor recommends you need this done. Your doctor isn't just going to perform major surgery on you on a whim.
It's hard to remember when you are facing surgery. I ran so many "what if previews" through my mind, it was hard to keep up with them all!
Thinking of you! Hang in there! Keep us all in the loop, as you are certainly not alone!

Re: Something I didn't think about
I posted the same thing a few weeks back, I thought I was a little nuts, but I guess it's a pretty common thought!
I had similar thoughts years ago when I had my allergy testing. I went in thinking nothing was going to show up, that my symptoms were all in my head, etc. Turns out it wasn't in my head, my allergies are very real, and very bad. Lucky me!
I'm trying not to let my mind trick me this time. My pain is very real, and soon will be gone! Woohoo!

Re: Something I didn't think about
Thank you all for the reassurance.
It's nice to know that 1) I'm not nuts, or 2)if I am, I'm not alone.

Re: Something I didn't think about
I've had the same thoughts too.
I've had plenty of weird things go through my mind. All of the "what ifs" are going to make me go crazy. LOL
