I have a date!

I went for my D&C post op visit today. The doc checked the mobility of my uterus during the internal exam, and said my ligaments are holding it in very tightly so he would rather not try a vaginal.

Also, the biggest 'roid is kind of growing in the hole of the donut at the top of the cervix. He thinks he can spare the cervix but will have to excise that fibroid and resect the top portion of the cervix.

I'm scheduled for June 18, he says I should be home Sunday or Monday. Both he and the other senior partner in the practice will be in the OR together, working as a team, and he will be on rounds that weekend, so he says it's a good time to schedule it. Gets me the "A team" as he put it. He says I can keep the ovaries unless they look obviously diseased, but there is no reason to expect that. That's it, we talked, answered questions, and we'll meet again on the 18th. I have to go over to the hosp for preadmission work next week, I guess.

At this point, I am expecting a positive outcome. I recovered quickly from both the UAE and ablation, never took the narcotics at all, even though some women had pain pumps after their UAE. I am hoping my pain tolerance will be similar this time. I guess I'll just start getting everything ready the next few weekends.

I have a date!

Joanne - congrats on your date. Isn't it a relief to finally have something to plan for?? Sounds like you've got a great perspective on things and you're in good hands. Too bad there's not a smilie for Mr. T!

I have a date!

Thanks for letting us know how your Post-op (D&C) and Pre-Op (hyst) went! Sounds like everything is planned and you are comfortable with the decisions made---glad you are having both docs in the OR and yours making rounds that week-end!!! That will make you more comfortable-knowing who will be coming in!

's.....now just spend the time getting ready---and REMEMBER to take time to do something extra special just for you!! Me time is so important!!!

I have a date!

Congrats on your date! It is so much better to have something solid to go on. You can finally make plans.

I'm trying to do some spring cleaning this week. Then next week I want to relax, go to the movies, picnic, go swimming, etc...

Take care!
