Getting nervous...and another concern:

My mind goes from one concern to the next as I await my TVH on August 15th. Now a big concern, after reading some posts, is sex. Do you always need to use lubrication after a hysterectomy? Is an O still achievable? Can our sex life be just as satisfying?

It is normal to be concerned and it is good that you are researching and getting answers.

For most yes, there are some who have problems. Some say it is not as good; some say it is better.

Many women report it is even better, because the problems they had pre-op are no longer an issue.

Each woman and her circumstances are different. It is not possible to say which woman will experience surgery related problems. Many of the problems are corrected through hormonal balance. Some unfortunately are not.

I am 9 weeks post-TVH. Sex is great---no need for lubrication for us, still having the "o", and sex is better because I no longer have to worry about the unexpected & prolonged visits from "Aunt Flo". That's my personal experience. Best wishes with your surgery & recovery!
