Tummy Tuck

Hi,

I had a TVH in October for significant fibroids. I have lost a lot of weight but I am struggling to get my stomach tightened up. I exercise three times a week with basically no change. Has anyone been able through exercise to tighten up their stomach? Has anyone had a TT? If so pain-wise and recuperation-wise how would you compare it to a TAH?

Thank you for any help you may give me!

Sue

TT and TAH

Three docs I went to told me I would never get that stomach to go away no matter how much I exercised. But I was 54 years old, and had lost 55 pounds over 2 years time. I had a size 10 body and a size 16 stomach!

I had the full abdominoplasty with the TAH, so can't say whether it was harder or not. But they did remove 2 1/2 pounds of skin and fat-lipo all the way to my rib cage. I was cleared for golfing, swimming etc at 4 weeks post op by the plastic surgeon.

Here is an old link to a pretty long thread by women considering it, and those that had it.

If you do a search with abdominoplasty or tummy tuck you will find tons.

I would do it again in a heartbeat, although there were several that had some pretty severe complications-like staph infections.

Tummy Tuck

Hi. I also had a TT with the TAH, so I can't really say what the difference would be. However, the TT incision is hip-hip, it wasn't terribly painful, just annoying in that it takes longer to be able to sleep on your side. Also, there is discomfort above your waist, like you've done 200 sit-ups, like a soreness. I would definitely do it again though as I had quite an apron of skin that never would have gone away any other way. I had thought about it since my last child was born via C-section 11 years ago, when I found out I needed the hyst. I decided I would do it all together, otherwise i don't think I would have ever gotten up the nerve. Good luck to you.
