2 weeks post op YEAH with a quick ???

Tomorrow it’s been 2 weeks since my surgery TAH. I fill so much better than I did last week. The only pain I really have at this point is when I pee. I get such a sharp pain just under my belly button maybe 3 inch. I will go pee and while im doing it a have a pain like a knife is in there. It hurts so bad that at times it brings tears to my eyes. Also the skin there seems super sensitive. All I have to do is brush my fingers along my skin lightly and it hurts. It’s as if im pushing on it hard when in fact im not. Is it because I had a catheter and my body just needs to adjust itself, they hospital took that out on day 2.

I am three days short of 2 weeks!! HOORAY for us. From what I understand, the shock that your body went through is really tramatic for your bladder. I didn't have a catheter for long, but when I void, I feel everything inside readjusting itself and it doesn't feel good. If I were you, I would check with your Dr. if you are having severe pains. He will be able to explain what is going on inside better!

i see the dr on tuesday for my 2 week post op. i was going to ask him as well as this has only just started about the last week.

any other ladies out there have the same pain???

No I haven't had this pain. I've also never had one, but could it possibly be a UTI?

I have never had a UTI so im not sure, it does not hurt any other time only when i go pee.

I had a UTI at about two weeks out... it made peeing painful and gave me a discharge. Do ask your doctor about it... are you having any fever? I was so glad when that passed. Keep the faith sisters!

Tomorrow is my 2 week date as well! Congrats for doing so well. I had the catheter in and out 5 times while in the hospital. Bladder had gone on strike. Went home with the catheter in and was taught how to remove it myself which I did on Tuesday. Luckily I finally peed in the big girl potty that day. While my bladder is working again, it does it a bit slowly at most times. However, I have not experienced the sharp pains you are. I would definitely call the doc about that. That's what they are there for.

It's good that you're posing this question to the doc, as you'll want to rule out UTI. Are you getting sufficient fluids? Meaning, are you drinking at least 64oz daily? The other thing you can drink is cranberry juice. Hope that pain eases up soon!
