Pain and still waiting

Hi I am back I just want to say thank you for all the support I have and am still getting from all my hystersisters. My surgery was postponed do to my GYN collecting and building a case with our insurance company. So in the mean time I have been really sick with the antibiotics she has me on. All i do is sip 7-up and always have a peppermint candy in my mouth to settle the stomach. Did any of you have this problem with the antibiotics? So I have been really depressed with the pain. So haven't been on the hystersister for the last week. I keep thinking of you and all the advice and encouragement you have given me since waiting through this frustrating time. So I just am sitting and waiting until I see my GYN on the 17th of Feb. It seems like a life time I been waiting as I have been with you hystersisters for a couple months now and don't know what I would do with you. Thanks for being there for me in a time of need of support. I also wanted to ask anyone did they go through this with the medicines and also did anyone or everyone have to go too an internist to have a exam done as my GYN said she wanted me to do to the high blood pressure worrying about a heart attack during surgery. I went to my regular Dr. in which she sent me to have his approval and he acted like I am fine and to keep track of my blood pressure to bring in. He didn't act to concern just says that Dr.s expect to much of stuff. I thought to myself this is my body and I do want to be in good shape for it. Am I wrong to be concerned. Any input would be great. Thanks to all my sisters. Bernie4177

Pain and still waiting

I'm so sorry your surgery has been postponed and you aren't feeling well.

If I take antibiotics without food it really upsets my stomach. Does your prescription have instructions on it--whether to take with meals or not?

I haven't had a problem with high blood pressure, so am not able to address that, but hopefully someone else will come along here who can.

I know it's so hard waiting and not knowing yet about the insurance approval and surgery date. Let us know when you find out your new date. In the meantime, keep coming here as much as you need to.

's and Blessings,

try taking your antibiotics with a yogurt. That's what really helped me when I was on a strong antibiotic. Plus, the live cultures in the yogurt will help to keep you from getting a yeast infection!

Thanks Shelly for being there and guiding me through all this time until they get the insurance approved for surgery and the actual date set. Everytime I see you hugging your white cat it reminds me of my cat Puffers he is pure white and looks like yours. They sure do bring me comfort in times like this just like you my hystersisters. I don't know what I would of done with out all of your encouragement when I have been feeling so low. I think alot of it has to do with the antibotics the Dr. has me on. I been taking food with it but it is so strong that I have been sick around the clock. They insist I try and keep taking it so I have lost 25 pds. With sipping 7-up and constantly having peppermint candy in my mouth as the antibotics leave such a taste in my mouth. I noticed since I have been taking this I have not slept hardly in two weeks. Before I would sleep like a baby so I only have until tomorrow and should be done with the course of antibotics. Thank goodness. I see the GYN on the 17th of this month and then hopefully I will have some news. I can't thank you again for being there in a time I have been so low. But made myself get back on the internet to stay in contact with the ones that are going through with what I am. Thanks Shelley your a jewel and so is your cat. Bernie4177

Luveday

Thanks I will get some yogart and try that. I know that with the antibotics it says no milk products would that be a problem with the anitibotics. I am willing to try anything as this being sick around the clock has really taken a toll on me. All I drink is 7-up and always have peppermint candy in my mouth to get that taste out of my mouth. So I will take your advice and get some yogart. Thanks for the advice Luveday. Take care Bernie4177

Pain and still waiting

Hi again, Bernie---

Unfortunately, yogurt is a milk product, so if your Rx says not to take with milk, I wouldn't chance it. Best to stick with your 7-up and peppermint candy routine. Hopefully after tomorrow you won't have to take the antibiotics anymore...I'll keep my fingers crossed!

It's nice to hear we have darling white kitty's in common. Mine is a real sweetheart--he sense my moods and is very comforting when I don't feel well.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks Shelly for the advice as yesterday was my last day of the medicines so I am so glad today and did buy some yogart to calm the stomah. I figure I am done with it now it taste so good. Did they put you on antibotics when you had your surgery? When did you have yours? Did you heal quickly? I will be glad when I get my done as that presistant pain takes a toll on me. But know it will be gone soon with surgery. I will feel like a new person. I do love your cat he looks my male cat Puffs. I don't know what I would do with out him such a cuddly and loveable thing like you said in a time when you are sick you can pick them up and give them a hug. It seems to help make things better at the moment. That is why when I seen your picture I showed my husband and told him he looks like our Puffs. Anyway thanks for being there Bernie4177

Pain and still waiting

Glad to hear you are off the antibiotics and the yogurt tasted good!

I had LAVH/BSO 8 months ago for fibroids, adenomyosis and cysts on ovaries. I did not have to take antibiotics. The first 6 - 8 weeks are very important for initial recovery. Resting a lot, taking short walks to keep circulation going, drinking lots of fluid and basicially Pampering the Princess! This is major surgery and impacts us physically and biochemically. It took me a good 6 months to feel like I had found my "balance" again. (Still tired easily and took awhile to get the hormones balanced). I am very happy I had this surgery and it is behind me (the waiting was the WORST part). I do not miss the pain and heavy bleeding and my quality of life has greatly improved.

What is your diagnosis and what type of hysterectomy are you having? Will there be an abdominal incision or will it be done with a laparoscope?

My kitty Nic, sends greeting to Puffers!

It is good to hear from you shelley. It sounds like you feel so much better than before the surgery. That is was the right thing to do. I am so happy for you. It sounds like it really takes time to heal and just like you said pamper yourself. I am to have a total hysterectomy and ovaries out she said. As going through menopause has stopped my periods for over two years now. She told me that she is going to try and do my surgery vaginally but with me not ever being able to have children in the pass my cervix and everything down there is not stretched it is more narrow. So she said couldn't promise me anything. That when she is doing the surgery and finds she can't do it that way. Then they will have to make the incision. I have been hearing some things on that which scares me. Maybe you would know that when having a incision there is a main blood vessels down there in the stomach and it can be dangerous. Have you heard of this. Also that with the stomach muscles being cut if I do have the incision will take a long time healing also do to cutting all those muscles. So if you have any input I would love to hear. I am sleeping better since off the antibotics I finally slept like a baby first time in two weeks. I thought I was going to go crazy with not sleeping. Plus the cold yogart taste so good. Thanks for telling me that. I also wanted to ask what is your white cats name? He looks so sweet and loving just like my puffers he is my baby since I have never been able to have children The love of my love besides my wonderful husband which comes first. But husband jokes with me and says sometimes Puffers gets more love than him and we chuckle. So now I have to give both of my men equal love and attention. LOL Anyway thanks Shelley for everything. Waiting to hear from you Bernie4177
