Full tummy tuck in 05 now time for TAH!

Hello... I had a full tummy tuck back in 2005 and I absolutely love my results even now. BUT now I have to have a total hysterectomy and BSO. What I am worried about is the scar it will leave. I am getting staples and that bothers me. Especially since they took away my c-section scar that had staples. I want to know if anyone else went through a tummy tuck first and then an abdominal hysterectomy? Did the dr stay on your TT scar? I'm scheduled for March 6th. Thank you!

Re: Full tummy tuck in 05 now time for TAH!

Hi Fancy, yes, had TT then TLH. Gyn put three small incisions one left, one center and one right along the TT scar, and one inside the belly button. The laproscopic incisions are so tiny and will likely fade fast. I do t think anyone would suspect I've had all this surgery even with a bikini on.
While the scars from the surgeries look good, the healing from TT one year ago is still problematic. Ongoing swelling. Don't think my body likes the sutue materials that were left inside. Surgery has been the most frustrating experience due to slow healing and suture related complications.

Full tummy tuck in 05 now time for TAH!

Hi! Thank you for your reply! I had a supra cervical abdominal hysterectomy on march 6th. My cervix was left in place and everything else is gone including both tubes and ovaries! I asked the dr to stay in the tummy tuck scar which he did. I had huge fibroids too big for laparoscopic surgery. It's been almost 3 months since surgery and I'm still swollen. I heard it lasts a year! I guess I will have to live with it then. I have a lot of swelling on top of belly too! I hate that! Other than that I'm doing good. Still loving my tummy tuck!!

Fancy , hopefully the swelling won't take a year to subside. So glad to hear your surgery went well and you still get to enjoy your TT!
