Can't live with this crying anymore!!!

I had a da vinci hysterectomy 4 mos ago today. Have one ovary left and am 44 yrs. old.
My dr gave me a compounded hormone cream because of "symptoms" 1 mo post op.
The bio-identical cream contains estrogen and progesterone.(estradiol .1 mg and estriol .4 mg, progesterone 4 mg)
I am super sensitive to hormones, in the first place. I CANNOT take birth control pills because they make me do exactly what I'm doing right now!!! Crying, depression, anxiety, sleeplessness etc

I visited my dr last week. We are doing another saliva test but that will take 2-3 wks to get results. In the meantime, he has given me some supplements to help with my seratonin levels which could be off as my body is not making melatonin (so i'm not sleeping). Also given l-theanine for the anxiety and take before bed. I am adamantly opposed to taking pharmaceuticals for depression because... I WAS NOT like this before my hysterectomy. I want to discover the cause not mask the symptoms.
Sisters!!!! I don't know how I can persevere through one more day... let alone 1 more month with these bouts of crying!!!! I am in school full time and CANNOT continually cry throughout my day.
I am desperate for any words of wisdom you can give me.
DESPERATE!!

Re: Can't live with this crying anymore!!!

I am 42 and have been dealing with the crying and depression for a while. I also did the saliva test and every level was out of range - either too high or too low. My TLH was June 20. I am now taking Macca which is supposed to be a natural hormone balancer. I am finding my energy and mood improving. I am also starting to sleep better - I hadn't expected that. I am doing this with my naturopath though since she is also the one who did my tests.

I hope you get or find some relief soon - hugs to you - YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!

Hi, I tried the compounded creams once. They did not work well enough for me. the estradiol was too low, the estriol (the weakest) was too high and I couldn't tolerate the progesterone at all. I do better with the patches and gels that are all the 17 b estradiol (the strongest estrogen of the 3) I found I can't tolerate progesterone because it made me sleepy, depressed, non energetic, and my breasts sore.. In my own opinion ,just based on my experience you may need your formula tweaked . Is your compounded preparation ingredients all in one tube? I have read where it is better seperated so you can control each ingredient. I have also seen it recommended on here that it is important to get the estrogen dose right first before adding other hormones . I found this to be correct for me. I guess an idea would be to have the pharmacist separate each one.? Mine were seperated so when I started having really bad symptoms, I stopped the progesterone one completely and felt better within a few weeks. I didn't stick with that compounded method too long. it took them to long to change it( and I wasn't patient then, and spent everyday crying also and quickly after about 5 days of it, slapped a patch back on)..its really hard to go very long not feeling good and that gets old. I just knew I felt better on the patches so went back to them and also supplement with gel. there are those on here that do fine with the compounded creams hopefully they will have good experience to offer and suggestions for you.
**something else I just thought of-- do you only put the cream on once a day? some have had to put their creams on twice a day for a while then eventually went down to one--maybe that is something to consider also..**
