1 week post-op report..

Saw my doctor yesterday for my 1-week follow up and we went over the pathology report... turns out that I had adenomyosis in addition to the rampant fibroids!

Anyway... she says I'm doing great... the incision looks good and I can start taking the steri-strips off in the shower. I think they stuck them on with super glue or something because they just don't want to come off!

Mom gave me a tube of Mederma to use on my scar... hope that makes it fade away quickly.

It's hard to take it easy... I'm done with the strong drugs... just taking Anaprox 2x a day, with an occasional Ultram (tramadol) thrown in when I get a bit too sore. But mostly, I hardly feel any pain at all. I get wore out easily... and I love my afternoon nap!

I think tomorrow I'm going to try driving... wish me luck!

Good for you!
I'm so happy for you that your recovery is going so well! So often we only see posts about complications, etc. but to be one week post-op and feeling as good as you do, Congrats are in order, you definitely have a guardian angel! I, too, had adeno but didn't know until the path report came back-no wonder those dang periods were so crampy all my life!!! Continue to do well, but just don't over do it! Maria

I'm glad your feeling well. Just don't get over confident and over do it. You still have to take it easy and let your body do the talking.
I tell you this because it's easy to say. I will struggle with the "do" part.
LOL. it sure felt good to say to someone though! LOL

1 week post-op report..

My gyno took the tape off that day in 1 minute and tore my skin off... and I have been using neosporin on the mini wounds. Just a note.. it never hurt the incision.. it's on the ends were the tape was that ripped off.

OUCH*

Taking it easy is definitely the hard part... Even with the little bit of pain that I still have, I feel tons better than my days when I was crampy and miserable... and I think about how I got through life like that, and it's hard to sit still and not do the day-to-day things that I'm used to.

thank goodness for the Checkpoints... even if I feel good, I'm not pushing it and using them for guidelines.

I did drive today, just to town... it wasn't bad.
