I'm LOL at this. I have a home based boutique business, and I have been itching to get back to making accessories the past day or so, but can't sit up straight for long at all yet....so I've been thinking a plan up for a "lap desk" in the recliner.

I have noticed even with tiny increases in my activity level, my pain & swelling goes up, so I will be taking it really easy for a while longer.

I agree, find a happy medium between the two. Check with your doctor to be sure and follow their instructions, not ours, of course!! Your body won't heal as well if your mind isn't into it as well -- I felt like I hit a brick wall at about POD 5, I'm so not used to lying around and doing nothing and I was feeling pretty good so on POD 6 I pushed myself a little. Nothing major, just went for a nice 30-min walk with the hubby and we went out for supper and stuff. It did wonders for my emotional state, and I was only a little sore for the next couple of days. Moving around as you can keeps your circulation going, and helps prevent pneumonia and blood clots and complications like that. And will help keep you from getting bored.

Good luck!

Hi sisters, I just wanted to add something to this post....I'm further out than ya'll....but the end of week 3 p/o was the worst. Some of you may feel as though you've taken 2 steps back. Please take the first 4 weeks to do Nothing. Believe me it's hard...women, we are in general busy busy creatures! I had some crafting I was doing sitting in a chair after the 2nd week...and I could only sit for an hour. The less you do now...the more you can do later. The boredom really sucks, but it truly is best to pamper yourselves and chill! I think quilting in the recliner is perfect! Heal on, Heal well.
