Re: I want my energy back and my uterus/ovaries/adhesions OUT!!!!
Arts wife, I didn't have the same problems as you before. But I did have fibroids and the last straw was a cyst that ruptured. My breasts were always sore, but for me, just left me with false hope that I was pregnant. I never did get that blessing. I was so tired every day. It was terrible. Sex was painful and my bladder was so sensitive. For 20 years, 3 docs told me to have a hysterectomy and I finally listened.
To answer your question of whether you will feel better, everyone heals different. I'm 51. I had a full hysterectomy via Davinci. I want to be truthful in that I was regretting it in the first couple of weeks after. The only reason is by the time I decided to have the surgery, I was already worn out from constant pain and although the surgical pain is a whole new ball game, I was so unhappy to deal with more pain. Mind you, before I kept thinking I would feel better and never did. So my will was a bit shot. I couldn't see the light. I found the healing another challenge, but in a TOTALLY different way. Because I started to realize that there was light. An actual good ending. Big difference! I embraced the different pain, honored my body, stayed calm until my body was ready.
The only thing that shocked me about the process is that as much as my female parts gave me hell all my life, I did mourn for the loss of them a bit. It's a weird feeling. Very final. But I cried, did what I had to do and accepted my future. I also healed a lot slower, but I embraced that too.
I'm at week 10, and I feel fantastic! No more pain. I have tons of energy. I'm so excited for my future now. My advice to you is just feel all you can so that once you heal, you will have no stuffed feelings. There's so much light in the world. You'll see......best of luck to you. Peace!

Re: I want my energy back and my uterus/ovaries/adhesions OUT!!!!
Artswife,
I was kind of in the same boat as you, though no anemia. Had a cyst surgery in 2007 and at least one was back by 2008. Had a gynecologist in 2008 who thought I ought to have a hysterectomy. I fought it by finding a new gynecologist as I thought menopause would fix the situation. In retrospect, I regret not doing it sooner. While the first 2 weeks post-op were rough, 5 1/2 weeks after, I'm back to walking 3 miles a day and am really looking forward to my surgeon's appointment this week to be cleared for everything else (I hope!).

Mine happened really quickly, five days from my appointment to have the biopsy, then exactly a week later I was having my hysterectomy.
