Wink - Bladder Distention Bladder Distention

Bladder Distention,,,,,,anyone had this done? I saw a pelvic pain specialist & even though the test for IC was negative he still thinks I have it. My urgency didn't start until after my HYS so I don't think I have it, I think something from that has triggered it. Plus pelvic floor dysfunction with chronic pain, my stomach is sore to touch. I think that's from all the spasms that makes them feel this way but I can't go around in sweats for ever and pants hurt to wear. Let me know sister if any of you have advice. Xoxo

Re: Bladder Distention

Hello Sadie M!

I am sorry you are still struggling. Have you ever been prescribed any vaginal estrogen cream like Estrace or Premarin? Have you tried Pelvic Floor PT? What about an antispasmodic?

Just some ideas to throw out there for you.

Wink - Bladder Distention Re: Bladder Distention

I've been on so many different meds I can't keep up. One of them is for muscle spasms and many muscle relaxers. Some of the others are for nerve damage so you would think I would feel so much better but I don't. Now I've met with this specialist and he wants to do the bladder Distention and look for any adhesion. I've been wanting surgery again as I hope they can repair the nerves and pelvic floor but now I'm second guessing myself due to my physical therapist (that works on the pelvic floor muscles) advised me against it. She thinks just doing PT will get me back on my feet even though it will take awhile, I don't have awhile as I've missed 3 months of work from this pain being in bed. So now I totally don't know what to do. I wished I could talk to someone who has gone to this specialist and ask them on the experience. If any of you sisters have an idea on what I should do please let me know. Thanks

Re: Bladder Distention

I'm sorry to hear you are having so much pain. I would recommend getting a second opinion from a reputable urogynecologist. Bring all of your medical records as well. Better to take your time and find a good doctor than to jump into something you're not sure about and then be sorry. I would also continue with the PT. it can be very helpful and you've got nothing to lose!
Take care and I hope you get answers soon. Keep us posted! (((Hugs)))

Re: Bladder Distention

KAC66,,,,,your right I should take my time. I've been through 2 doctors which one of them is ranked one of the highest Gyn in this region but he said I have muscularsketal and thought PT and pain management would help me, it has a little but I'm still in sever pain. He didn't know what else to do and told me he was sorry but didn't have any other ideas for me. So I went to this specialist who has runs the pelvic pain center here. He's the one that my test for IC is negative but he believes I have it. I don't think I have it as the urge to pee just happened right after my HYS. So now he want to do the bladder distention test but that's for people who have IC. I just think its a waste of time and need him to treat me for the pudenal nerve damage. If he can't do that then should I really have him open me back up? Maybe he could see something else the other one missed but what if he doesn't see anything and it's a waste of time then I'm no better off then now. I just don't know what to do. I need to get back to work so I'm desperate for anything. Thanks for letting me vent.
