Hi, I'm new here. I have been on the ERC listserv for the past few months, though.
I went back to work (lawyer, desk job) full-time last Monday, 2 1/2 weeks post-LSH, left oophorectomy and appendectomy and bowel resection for Stage IV endo of the bowel. My energy during the day is pretty good generally, although I'm sleeping about 11 hours a night.
I was wondering about the discharge myself until I read the posts here. Mine started last Wed, just before 3 weeks post-surgery. I'm still using a pad, although it's greatly reduced today.
The hardest thing for me is remembering that although there are just four tiny incisions on my belly, a lot of stuff happened inside. Yesterday evening, I literally picked up and carried up stairs and across two rooms my 45-pound 6-month old labrador because she was getting out of control and trying to bite me. Now I'm afraid that I could have pulled something and will end up with adhesions.
Anyway, I ramble. Cheers to everyone!

to Hyster Sisters!

Lifing your pet was probably over doing it a bit! Don't be surprised if you find you feel more sore and have more discharge over the coming days. You may find you will need to check with your doctor to make sure you are okay.

Some of us are more prone to adhesions than others. And those of us with endo seem to be "extra" prone as the endo can create adhesions. Try to take it easy and let your body heal. Even though you only have tiny incisions, you still had major surgery, especially considering the appendectomy and bowel resection.

Many best wishes to you! s

Hi Kekker,

I had a LSH also. I have read on Hyster Sisters that LSH ladies can have spotting to up to 6 weeks post-op. And as Weiser replied, you might want to double check it with your Dr.

Please be careful. You are right on the outside you have 4 small tiny incisions vs one big horizontal or vertical but on the inside it will take just as long to heal. I would think no lifting for at least 6 weeks. Call the dr I am sure everything is ok but it does not hurt to be on the safe side.
