Any school teachers out there?
I'm a supply/substitute teacher (elementary level) and am currently 4 wks post-op. Am feeling pretty good - occasional twinges and twangs in the lower belly, but otherwise good. Was planning to go back to work a few half days for the next two weeks until my 6-week check up (need the $$). After 6 weeks I plan to go back full-time (supply teaching, that is).
Are there any teachers out there who had TAH/bladder sling? How did you manage your first days back at work standing on your feet a lot with kids around? Any words of advice??
Thanks!!!

Any school teachers out there?
Hi Skippydog,
I'm a sub, too. I was offered a long-term position starting 10-17. My TAH/RSO was 9-27. My doc said as long as I felt good that I could start working. Many of the sisters were surprised that he gave the okay so soon (less than 3 wks). I guess it really all depends on how good you feel. Unfortunately, the teacher I was going to fill in for had her baby two weeks early which was only one week into my recovery, so they gave the position to someone else. That was the only time I cried! I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason. Maybe God is telling me that three weeks is just not enough time. I'm going to call the sub-caller today to let her know that I want back on the list (I need the $$, too). This way, I can pick and choose what positions I want. With the long-term, it would have been every day, all day, through Christmas. It really may have been too much. Good luck, and let me know how things go for you. I really miss teaching!!!

Any school teachers out there?
We have one of the best "jobs" in the world! I am a substitute Instructional Assistant for special needs kids, and it is the best "job" I have ever had. I am anxious to go back to work too, but know I am not ready until probably 4 weeks out. However, I am planning to take my entire 6 weeks recovery (unless I get too buggy) because I want every chance to heal properly and be (hopefully) stronger in the long run.
I'm a long-term sub for an elementary school, and they plan to hold the position for me when I am able to return with a possibility of increasing my hours to a more permanent position. However, anything can happen and I will also have to leave it up to God's will.
I'm wondering how my stamina will hold out too. Another concern is that I'm kinda clumsy and don't want to have any collisions with a kid barreling down the corridor...
