3 weeks post-op-crampy and sweaty?

I had an TAH on March 4th. The recovery has been okay-physically I think I'm doing pretty well. The last 2-3 days, I've felt sorta crampy and had twinges of pain. I'm assuming it's the swelling going down (I hope!) and part of the process. Is this normal? Also, I'm still needing to wear a pad - how long does it take the stitches to dissolve? Thanks for any advice--I need it!

Re: 3 weeks post-op-crampy and sweaty?

It will take a while for the internal stitches to dissolve or be absorbed, but my doctor trimmed the external stitches after 10 days.

I am 8 weeks post op and still feel occasional twinges and aches, especially after being on my feet or sitting still a long time, but nothing to really complain about. About 4-5-6 weeks the stitches actually began to hurt more and for a few days there was what I would call a "ring of fire" effect both internally and externally--someone said that it was a sign of the nerves firing and healing. It was hard to sit up for long. At about 6 weeks I started feeling human again, and during the next two weeks there was a noticeable improvement almost daily (unless I did to much.

I am still sleeping with my heating pad that helped me to navigate the pain and discomfort and probably will until it becomes warm. Winter is back for its last licks where I live...
