dVH/RALH Douching

I'm 3 1/2 months post-op. No cervix or ovaries.

Monday I had to do some strenuous stuff at work. On Tuesday morning I had red spotting very light. Today the spotting is brownish. I'm assuming that my overexertion played a part in my spotting (not sure).

Does anyone know if it is okay to use a douche to get rid of the old blood? And, what about a tampon (I hate pads)?!?!

Wow, so much to learn about post-hysterectomy stuff!!

Next, I'm just waiting for my boobs to thin and drop to my knees.

This many months post-op I would call to have a check on the source of the spotting. There may be some granulation tissue.

Most drs don't like douching so something to ask when you call, same about the tampon.

I agree with tauruslady. My doc specifically told me not to douche at around 2.5 months when I overdid it. She said it would really get my flora and pH balance out of whack. As for the tampon, if there is something that needs attention in there, it is likely the tampon might irritate it and make it worse. Hopefully you feel better soon!
