17 days post op weird numbness

Hi Ladies...hope someone can relate to my recovery...i had a davinci partial i still have ovaries cervix and tubes just the uterus removed...i did have some adhesions on the bladder from my previous c sections...i have 5 insicions none of which are near the belly button...however i am still having some discomfort on both the left and right side not constant but does come and go...even still when i cough or laugh...but what bothers me most is this numbness about an inch or so below the belly button...it is sensitive to the touch on the outside of the skin which i would say as like a numb feeling and it has like a burny feeling underneath...i can press on the area and it feels tender...I did follow up with the dr just yesterday actually for my first post op...and he is good but sometimes we just need to know someone else out there has had this feeling and not just a dr that says yes i have had other patients say that...what does that mean...after all he is the dr doing the surgery...not the patient who is experincing this different feelings after surgery!!! Thank you in advance for any input..

Re: 17 days post op weird numbness

Hello Sister...
I think the numbness is normal. I'm at 11 wks and still have some numbness and tenderness. Although we heal quickly externally, its takes much longer to heal internally. I read and was told that it can take anywhere from 6 months to a year to heal completely internally. You are still in the early stages of your recovery, so you will experience different discomforts and aches. Just take it easy and listen to your body. Happy Healing!!
