Swelling After Myomectomy Experiences?

I'm 34 days post-abdominal myomectomy. My surgeon removed 28 fibroids over the course of 4 hours. Overall I'm healing quite well, but I have a couple of questions for those of you who've been there!

My swelling has been gradually decreasing since the surgery, but it's still noticeable almost five weeks out. It's worse at night than in the morning (though it's still somewhat noticeable in the morning), and it noticeably worsens with activity during the day, even walking. I've been told that a longer, more complicated surgery means a longer recovery time, so I'm trying to be patient.

How long before your swelling was no longer noticeable after your open myo? How long before you weren't having swelling after physical activity?

Did anyone else feel tightness or pain around your belly button after an open myo with horizontal incision?

I stretched without thinking about 2.5 weeks after surgery, and started having pain and tightness underneath/inside my belly button. I'm guessing that it's due to tight abdominal muscles from the surgery recovery and the lack of ability to do good stretching in the past few weeks. It is gradually getting better - it doesn't bother me as consistently and it's more tightness than pain now, so I assume it will go away with time. But did anyone else experience this? Did it go away?

I am experiencing the same thing. I am drinking lots of water. Making veggie fruit drinks w my Ninja and adding water that has had parsley steeped in it. I am also drinking detox tea. My doc is doing an ultrasound to make sure there is no obstruction. Due to all of the above I can at least wear my larger clothes. The swelling has decreased but my stomach is still not right. I'm on week six. I am convinced that you need listen to your body and disregard sometimes what well meaning doctors say. I know the difference between too much food and fluid retention. I have purchased books informing me about my body so I am not forced to just trust my doctors information.
