Bending? Sweeping? and what about shoes??

My doctor had instructed me pre-op that I was not to bend- no reaching up, no bending down, not to empty the dishwasher etc... Does anyone know who long that restriction applies? The doctor really didn't specify.

I was told not to vaccum or sweep etc... again, not sure how long. I have a dog and a cat, and let me tell ya, the fur is piling up around here! I keep wondering, would it really hurt to just do a quick swiffer?

And what is up the the no high heels? What exactly applies as a high heel? Are we talking 3 inches or is even 1.5 inches too much? ( not that I am going anywhere I need to wear heels any time soon, but still!

When do u see your dr again? I was supposed to see mine at 2 weeks but fir othe reasons saw him at 1 week. Most restrictions were changed there.

I saw him right @ 3 weeks due to increased bleeding. I see him again on the 25th about 7 weeks post op... But when I saw him last time, he didn't address my restrictions other than to say I needed to slow it down.

Then I wouldn't bend, etc. I notice I bleed more when I more. My dr did say I could ease back into my routine, but I have to find the definition of ease. Everytime I think I am easing, I either bleed more, cramp more or am sore and tired,

I know all about the dog hair. It's piled in all its usual places around here, too. I asked for help to sweep yesterday, but no one did it. they are not good housekeeping helpers. It's driving me crazy looking at it all day.

I did pick up a broom and sweep last week, but just a small space by the door because the dirt was sticking to the bottom of my feet and I couldn't take it anymore, but I did it very slow and I did not sweep up the pile into the dust pan. I swept it over to the side and make DH put it in the dustpan and into the garbage.

My doctor didn't tell me anything about restrictions. I got a 10 lbs lift restriction on my discharge papers. I got everything else from this site.

I have been lucky, really, because I have someone who comes and cleans for me 2x a week. But between the kids, the pets and the hubby... Well, I'm sure you all understand! Hubby means well and is great about the heavy lifting and running up and down the stairs for the kids, but fur and dust bunnies don't faze him at all! LOL I think I will try the swiffer... Its light and easy... I'll let you know how it goes!

My family bought me a robotic hoover so they didn't have to do it! It's fanastic

Ooh how I wish I had one of those! LOL just watching the dog and cat as it vaccums around would be worth it! LOL
