prolapse/hysto advice

Hi,

I am 36 years old with 3 lovely children. I have been suffering with a prolapse for at least 3 years. Everytime I lift anything or do any pulling or pushing or pick up my 3 year old much....I get pain and that "falling out feeling". I have consulted 1 doctor(other than my ob) so far and she recomends a hysterectomy as well as reconstructive surgury.

I have so many questions and concerns. How long is recovery? Can you go back to a "normal" life(lifting and such) Sex is fine and I don't have any problems unless you count having difficulty attaining the big "o" as it is, so I am assuming a hysterectomy would make that even worse. However, I am more concerned with being able to resume an active life. I am studying to be a nurse(I just started) and am wondering if this is a bad idea?

Any help would be appreciated.
