any experience with Combipatch?

Here is another question for those that have already gone through the TAH. Mine is next Monday and am wondering if anyone has had good luck with Combipatch 50/250? This is what the dr. has put me on to start in the castle. Did this help with sadness, hot flashes and libido?

Hi JTSMA,
Are you also going to have your ovaries removed?

Here is a link to Combipatch FAQ's which may give you some more information.

I haven't used Combipatch, but I have used ClimaraPro, which is an estrogen/progestin combination. It give me headaches, and I do much better on bio-identical compounded hormones. If you are interested, here is more information for Bio-identical Hormones, What are they?

If you are keeping your ovaries, it could be that he just wants to use the patch temporarily to get you through the surgical recovery while your ovaries may be a little sluggish.

The "sadness, hot flashes and libido" symptoms you are asking about are created by a hormonal imbalance. Some women have no problems for a while, and other women seem to wake up from surgery with serious menopausal symptoms. I woke up with a Climara patch on and had no symptoms at all. With time, I have struggled with different ones on and off.

The more you learn about your choices, the better you will be able to talk to your Dr about your options.

,
Kay
