Re: what to take with you
I Just got home this afternoon from TAH/BSO on Friday.
i overpacked as I like to be "prepared" and barely used anything:
what i did use:
lip balm ( a lot)
lotion - warning - i brought my fave, but the scent made me sick - you're more sensitive to smells recovering, so probably NOT the best time to bring new bath & body works, etc -keep it simple
my glasses
ponytail holder
toothbrush/paste
shampoo/ bodywash - sunday they let me shower - wasn't too bad, didn't hurt, just couldn't bend over to wash legs/ lotion legs
ipod - used a bit
eye mask - block out light - used a LOT as I'm picky on this. I was on quiet/ end of floor so I lucked out on sounds
trashy mags - when i could focus, but was bored- hard to even focus on that though
hard butterscotch candy- good for dry mouth, to get taste out when they're pushing IV drugs
my own pillow & quilt - lifesavers- more comfy, more homy
my own pads - way better than giant ones from hospital. Also used some of my own granny panties as well as mesh ones from hospital.
Used a loose sundress on day I went home w/ flipflops
What I didn't use:
laptop/dvds
earplugs
any other clothes -gown was easier
any other toiletries
