Stitches really irritating, 12 days

Hi,
I'm 12 days post-op and had my staples removed after a TAH.
That area is red and irritated, and still oozing. Could it be possible a stitch has opened, or is this normal?

Re: Stitches really irritating, 12 days

Call your doctor and have him/her look at it. If you can't get hold of your doctor, go to ER. You don't want to fool around with an infection of your incision which, if it is sore and red, you might be dealing with. Something else to think about might be that your underwear is irritating the incision. I went without undies for quite a while due to that reason. You might want to put a pad on top to protect it or go "commando".
