3 mos out, a depressed mess

Hi y'all! Well, I'm 3 months post op and feel like dog doo-doo. I had and abdominal hyst June 6, I got to keep my ovaries though. I developed a uterine accreta as a result of my second c-section...most painful thing...and after a hysterscopy, and an ablation, (both within 2 months of each other) a hysterectomy was my only hope for relief. It's a good thing I did it too...the accreta was growing and reaching out of the back of my uterus. My hyst was so painful and my recovery wasnt any easier. I've hated every minute of it. I never really had time to come to terms with what has happened to my body, so I've been really depressed and probably even more angry. I feel like I'm still recovering even though everyone tells me I'm fine, but hell, it's my body and it feels off. I haven't been able to lose weight, and have developed a gut...I've never had one before! I am not motivated to lose weight, even though I loathe my body right now. I feel alone and completely out of touch with everything, probably because I'm completely withdrawing and disconnected. My MIL keeps telling me she's surprised I've kept it together this long.

I have 3 beautiful children. A 10 year old daughter (well, step daughter, but I never call her that, she's in my home 50% of the year). A 2 year old son, who's the love of my life. And a 10 month old daughter that is the light of my life. I am so darn blessed with these 3 healthy, wonderful children I keep telling myself to quit being such a baby and get it together. I don't know why I can't. My husband is wonderful, very supportive, but a man and always trying to fix me. It's making me angry, but I know he's coming from a good place.

My sex drive is non existent...is this normal? It makes me so sad, especially since we both have always has abnormally strong sex drives. I hope it comes back, it's scaring me to death.

Anyone had these types of feelings? Or experienced anything like this?

Sounds like you've been through a lot!

I have had a similar experience (feelings wise) and my OB/GYN put me on the vivelle dot and it has helped me SO much! He said sometimes the ovary (I had 1 left) just never fully kicks in and you need some help. I've had to up my patch dose and this is when my sex drive kicked back in.

You may want to discuss this with your doctor. This may be the help you need.
