Does your cycle matter when having hysterectomy?

I am expecting a call back with my date of surgery and since I haven't heard yet: please help!
Does it matter where you are in your cycle when you have your hysterectomy?
Because I am due to start my pill again today after having my period but since surgery could be just around the corner I have no idea whether I should or if it even matters?

Ok so my surgeon called and advised I go off the pill as it would be best to be off the pill for 6 weeks before surgery. Has anyone been told this?

I have not, but that now goes on the list of questions to ask my doctor! Thanks, I don't think I would have thought of that.

My Dr actually wanted me to stay on active bcp so my iron levels wouldn't get any lower. My iron started at a 9 and by the time I had surgery it was an 11. It really helped once I had surgery as my iron levels stayed around 11. I wish you the best.
