Not Ready For Work !!!
I Had My 4 Week Post Op Check Up For Tah On Tuesday 3/14/06. Discussed Work With Gyn As I Am Still Feeling A Lot Of Pain Especially In The Afternoon Hour. Told Her 2 Weeks More Needed Which Would Be 4/3/06. Asst Completed My Back To Work Form For 3/28/06.
Should I Call Her Back And Get A New Form Or Try To Go Back To Work Its Only 1 Week Difference. Anyone Out There Who Recently Went Back? I Work As A Claims Adjuster So I Am Mostly Sitting All Day At A Desk.
Thanks For All Your Support !!!

Not Ready For Work !!!
It depends on a lot of things. What's you work load like?? If it is heavy, I'd propose you wait. Can they re-file with the correct date? I don't know in which state you are located, but out here in CA, you can easily file an extension form through the doctor. Remember, you have but ONE chance to heal properly...you'll never regret taking the extra time. I don't; the only thing I regret is that I have to go back on Monday! HA! Take care and let us know what you do!!! Lesley (Remember one other thing; I know this from my work: Even if it's a desk job, you still have to be "ON" all day. That in itself gets to be wearing on you.)

Not ready for work
I will be three weeks post-op (TAH/Bladder Tack) on Monday. I am not ready to go back to work. I'm still very sore and very tired. I would not push it until you and your body are ready. We only have one opportunity to recover and heal properly. Maybe half days for that first week and gradually move back into full time. Listen to your body.

Not Ready For Work !!!
I will be 7 weeks on monday, I see my consultant (doc who did op) on 28th but when i saw my GP on Tuesday he said he doesnt want me to go back until after easter. I just feel like the longer im off the harder it will be to get back to work, also the bills are starting to pile up and although my hubby keeps saying not to worry, i worry. My plan is to get the all clear on the 28th then the rest of the week go in for a couple hours to break myself in gently.
My worry is i work with pre school children and the group i work with are the exact height of my tummy, as is most of the furniture. Also the chairs are tiny which will cause problems getting up and down
What a dilemma, im fed up in the house but its become my comfort zone and anyway im still having good days and bad days. Time will tell, my body has kept me right so far so i`ll see how it goes.
Keep well everyone. Angela xxx

Not Ready For Work !!!
You need to respond to YOUR body. I worked from home after 1 week. I was ready to go back at 4 weeks but...... then I had back problems, which put me out for another 4 weeks. I was glad for the extra time. I wish I returned on a part time basis (4hours a day). but I went back for a full 8 hours a day. MISTAKE.... Do what is best for you.

Not Ready For Work !!!
I did very well through my whole recovery, and went back to work after 6 weeks. I have a desk-type job and was completely surprised at how wiped out I got after a day and a half back. I got through that week, by going home early the second day, going in late the third, and taking half a day off on the fourth. Each week since has gotten better. I say take the six weeks if you can! And I can't imagine how people with physical-labor positions do it so soon!

Not Ready For Work !!!
I just returned to work this past Tuesday, 1 day shy of 4 weeks. I am a nurse but I do QA, chart reviews, mainly paperwork. I returned to the office only and 4-5 hours a day, usually 9:00-1:30 or 2:00. I did OK but I am very tired and need to take a nap and get my feet up as soon as I get home. My back bothers me too and swelly belly gets worse in the evening. I still plan on reduced hours next week yet. Don't push it if your not ready. Take care Miss Trixie
