symptoms after vaginal hysterectomy and bladder mesh

I had surgery on Tues March 25 and came home late on Wed. Not sure what symptoms I should be having from having the bladder mesh put in. I wasn't given literature on it. Not having near as much pain as I expected, but my upper/inner thighs and back of legs are extremely sore. Anyone else have this? Having a hard time navigating the site but love what I've found on here so far. :-)

Re: symptoms after vaginal hysterectomy and bladder mesh

Hello,

I had a hysterectomy and bone anchor bladder neck sling as well on the 24th. The pain I am having is mostly in my lower back, my left buttock is still numb a little. I have twinges of bladder sensitivity and twinges in misc areas around my pubic bone. Also occasionaly pains in my abdominal muscles, but these are all minor. I am on a medication to prevent bladder sensitivity so not sure what I would I feel if I wasn't on that. Your legs may be sore from the position you were in during surgery. Sounds like you are doing well! Hang in there. =)

Re: symptoms after vaginal hysterectomy and bladder mesh

Thanks ! I'm not on any meds except for Lortab at bedtime to help me sleep and otherwise I take ibuprofen. I'm feeling little " twinges" in the nether regions but expect that may be normal. My bladder still feels like it is a bit " sleepy" but I just take my time. Sounds like you are doing well too. Glad this is pretty much behind us. I look forward to feeling " normal" for the first time in years. :-)
