Bulge or overhang disappearing...

Heya all....

I'm on week eight and can now see my scar in a mirror. Before this, the overhang kind of hid the scar. So it must be diminishing.....

I lost several pounds while in the hospital, but gained them back rapidly, plus some, while not being able to move around so much during early recovery and eating a lot of prunes and dried apricots, and drinking MetRx for the protein. So for the past ten days or so I've been on a calorie-restricted diet, and I'm now nearly down to my favorite weight. That may also account for some of the overhang disappearing.

The incision area is also now not quite as numb....

At home, I wear sweats, but when I go outside, I wear jeans with stretch. They're great, because they also act as a support. I find that it helps a lot....and that other pants are not as supportive and I don't last as long when I'm wearing them.

I overdid things a week ago...organizing my bookcases (I moved shortly before my operation)...and the bending and little lifting repeated over and over was just too much for me. I spotted heavily and weird clumps of black thread(???) came out as well. I also felt utterly exhausted the next day. TThe second day I was doing better. But obviously even though you feel fine doing stuff, it's not always ok...your body will let you know when you've overdone it.

So that's it from me....I'm glad things are progressing well. Big sigh of relief from me.

Good luck to everybody else. And don't overdo it....if you can help it.

I call it my "slab of flab"! Good to know that it does actually start to diminish with time. Do you think that the black thread might have been stitches that were discolored with blood?????

Bulge or overhang disappearing...

Glad to hear that someone's bulge is down! I can't wait until week 8 maybe I will be able to see mine without "lifting" the bulge LOL
I've actually put myself on a 'lower calorie' diet and it is working! I figure if you can't workout then I can force myself not to eat high calorie foods. Just wish veggies kept me full longer.

Bulge or overhang disappearing...

I can't wait for my bulge to go down.....I have started a new regimen this week....I have started working out in the gym, now that my doctor has released me.....Thursday I walked for 1.2 miles, Friday 1.33 miles and 1 mile on the bike, and today I walked for 1.51 miles and 3.2 miles on the bike....plus my doctor has put me on Adipex (I have about 100 pounds to lose)......

The good thing is that I had lost 6 pounds since my 2 week checkup....can't wait to see what is gone when I go back to the doctor's on 9/12.....

My husband is very excited that I have taken this step.....I can't wait to get him to go to the gym with me.....
