Nerve pain

I am currently 4 weeks post op from TAH/BSO. I am doing well from what I have read (I feel good, too) but the area between the incision (bikini line) and my navel is very sensitive to touch. No problem wearing clothes or undewear so it isn't too bad. Could this be nerve damage? Perhaps I am expecting too much too soon and need to give it more time.

Hi there... i too am suffering the same... 4 weeks post op and i woke up last night rubbing that area because it was so sore/tender... i have been told by my consultant that this is nerve pain and it will eventually go and is a very common complaint. I do notice that when i'm walking it doesn't cause me any problems but stretched out in bed is my worst time.....

I hope you find some comfort from this and reassurance it will go with time :-)

It is very common and could take awhile to stop. My dr said there are many, many nerves that are cut and they have to "knit" back together. It's not anything to worry about, but give your dr a call if it really concerns you.

I am so numb in that area. It feels weird. I keep poking at it with my fingernails hoping I will have sensation there again. Oddly it is also sensitive at the same time, go figure.

If I'd had any sense I should have scheduled a tummy tuck and got all that durn fat removed!
