Nervous of upcoming hysterectomy.

I've never been nervous before a surgery, I've had a few. Now that my hysterectomy has been scheduled for this Friday, I'm starting to feel anxious. I'm scheduled for laparoscopic but it may turn into an open because of scar tissue. I think that's what is making me so nervous. The unknown...
Nervous about the unknown of how the surgery is going to go which in turn will dictate how long my recovery period will be.

I agree it is hard to plan for the unknown. I took some extra steps to prepare my home for the longer recovery. I was concerned as I had a vertical c-section scar. The plan was for six small incisions and to be done via laparoscope. My uterus turned out to be massive and had to be cut in order to be removed vaginally. But the surgery did not need to be converted. Sending positive thoughts your way as you prepare for your surgery date.

Your feelings, nerves, fears, and emotions are very normal. And as surgery gets closer, these feelings really intensify.

The what ifs and unknowns can really make this difficult . You are not alone in this. This is one tough surgery to contemplate and face.

I had "tons and tons" of scar tissue in my surgeons words. He was able to do it as planned and didn't have to open me up. I'm healing very nicely and feel much better already.

That makes me feel optimistic! I honestly just can't wait to get this over with. 3 more sleeps

I also was told total laproscopic with chances of converting to full abdominal due to my adheshions . My surgery went as planned and it went well. All the whatifs are the worse ! I had severe anxiety before surgery but lemme tell you the anxiety leading up is far worse then the surgery. God bless and try to keep busy, it'll be here soon xo
