Yes, I also had this problem. I never ate so much as I did after my hysterecomy. One night I ate half of a pie! I attribute this to the tremendous amount of calories it takes to heal from this type of surgery, and your body adjusting to the new hormonal change. I know it's frustrating. I kept craving salty stuff, but I didn't want to be even more bloated than I already was. Hang in there. You'll feel like your old (new) self soon.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but I know just how you feel, and I hope some other ladies will be along soon to share, also!
To be honest, I was expecting my PMS to continue as I kept my ovaries and, sure enough, it has ~ with the same moodiness and sore breasts, etc ... Some ladies suffer with sore breasts anyway, following surgery, due to hormone fluctuations in the aftermath.
The ovaries are responsible for producing the hormones that cause PMS and, if you kept them, it's not unusual for the PMS to continue. On a positive note, if this continues every month, then at least you'll know they're still working.
Sending all good wishes!

I suffered what I think was PMS at 9 weeks post off, extreme sadness, mood swings and sore breasts last lasted about a week then gone. I sure hope this isn't an ongoing experience because I felt like I was going crazy!

Yes, I still experience pms each month. I kept my ovaries but they arent functioning as well as they should. My doctor drew some labs and my estrogen was low. Now Im using a low estrogen patch. I tried uping the dose because I felt really emotional during my pms week but it caused severe breast pain on a daily bases. Its been 8 months since my TAH and I still feel it each month . Talk to your doctor if it continues. Good luck

Hiya
I too suffered PMS during the past 5 weeks of my recovery and interestingly it coincided with when I would of had my period. I suffered lower back pain, cramps and cravings. It will be interesting to see if I suffer the same next month. All the best.
