Anxiety Increasing

I have been reading pre-op post for about three weeks. I am scheduled for a TAH in 18 day and my anixety is increasing daily. I believe that I have made the right decision but feel as if I am "giving up." Not sure if it is normal to have the desire and drive to scrub the house top to bottom as the day nears. Anyone else feel this way.

Thanks

Anxiety Increasing

I am 13 days out, and I found the need to have a yard sale the weekend before to remove my house of all the junk! This will make cleaning up easier, not to mention provide me with atleast a day's worth of distractions. So far, I have cleaned my bathroom like 6 times this week alone! Does the need to clean get worse for you at night? It does me. I wish you luck... It is a tough decission. Just try to remember to have faith, both in yourself, and your choice! God Bless!

Anxiety Increasing

I have just under a week to go. When I first found out, I had an urge to clean my whole house from top to bottom too. But the closer it has gotten to my date, the more I have decided that I can/will only get done what needs to be done. The rest will just have to wait until I feel up to it. If it doesn't get done before my date, oh well - it still be there when I get the okay to do stuff again.
I kept seesawing back and forth with my decision for a while as well but realized this is something that I really need to do. Like daisyrae said - Have faith and confidence in your decision because you are the only one who can decide what you should or should not do.

Anxiety Increasing

Oh, welcome to the Hyster Twyster - that white tornado of activity that hits you right before you go to the Castle!

If you read the journals here, you'll see that it hits just about everybody in the last couple of weeks, just depends on how organized you are as to how manic you feel about it.

Here's my suggestion:

Make yourself a cup of tea or other favorite beverage. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy a couple of sips, get yourself calm and centered.

Make lists of all the things you can think of that need to be done, onto different lists... one for shopping, one for cleaning, one for packing, etc. Once you've brainstormed everything you can think of, number the things on those lists in order of importance. Put a star next to anything that simply must be done by you and not something anyone can possibly help with - such as picking out which pair of slippers you're taking in your suitcase.

Post your lists where others in your house can see them. Ask them to mark off whatever on the list they do for you, so you'll know it's handled, and ask them to do them in number order. That way nobody does #10 when #4 is still glaringly not done. Also, when you get close to time to go, and you've got a few things left on the list A) your family can finish up the list before you come back home and B) you're assured that whatever's left is NOT the important stuff and isn't worth sweating about.

Hope this helps!

I cerently understand your anxiety for I am feeling the same way. I have been told to do somethings to get my mind off of it so here is what I have been told. Bury your self in a good mystery book. Read is a great relaxer. Take some strolles out side if its nice out. Go to a movie there is some great ones out right now or rent a few. Rent sex in the city good for some good laughs. Go to lunch with freinds and plan a special girls night out.
I am only 5 days out and I am having to follow my own advice Friday night is a all girls night out were celebrating : the end of aunt Flow. so wishing you the best of luck and speedy recovery
Theresa : always a good way to relieve stress too lol
