Another official lady in waiting!

Just got my appointment set up this afternoon. I'm penciled in on Aug 7th. I'm totally not thinking it will be this date but for now...I'm happy I'm all set to go!

I think I'm calm because it's still pretty far away. You watch my posts as I get closer and I won't be so calm! Thank you for the welcome...you're the first and only to do it thus far. So glad you like SU! too. My website is on my info page if you want to check it out. I need to upload some new samples to my gallery but there are some there now. Thanks again! ~Lorie

Hello. Being a is the life!
You do have plenty of time to prepare which is really essential to a sucessful recovery! Be sure to take the time to step out with hubby and friends. You may not feel up to it later. Sending wishes for a productive pre op and a pampered recovery.

Another official lady in waiting!

You know what? My life has been so crazy here recently and for another couple of weeks that I'm actually happy that I will HAVE to be down. I feel so selfish saying that but it will be nice to just say...I'm sorry, I can't do it.

My DH and I have been living apart (due to the Army) for the last 1 1/2 years and tomorrow I go to Colorado and we'll be driving home. Hopefully, to never have to worry about PCS, retirment, or deployment again! Next week is VBS and then after that is my SU! new catalog party. After those things...I can slow down for a little while or will it be a long while?

I am nervous about certain aspects of the surgery with right now the most being a catheter. I've never had one before. I've heard it's a bit uncomfortable but not really painful. Any assurance you have for me would be great!

Anyway, thanks for responding everyone!

Another official lady in waiting!

Okay can I talk about something else I'm a bit concerned about? A year ago in April I made my goal weight which was about 25 pounds less than what I was. I'm really concerned about not being able to work out and therefore putting on the weight again. I know I can lose it again but I worked so hard to get to where I am. And, I love to workout. Exercise kept me sane while my DH was deployed. What should I do?

I understand your concern about a possible weight gain. Several years ago I decided to stop talking about it and actually lose weight. Between diet and exercise, I managed to lose about 75 pounds ( took me almost a year ). So, I really didn't want to gain it back.
I'm happy to say that I did not and still have not gained any weight since my tah/bso. In fact, I lost several pounds right at first.
I started walking the day after my surgery - up & down the hospital halls. I went slow & easy, adding distance as I felt up to it. After I was released to resume normal activities at 6 weeks post op, I started adding my daily exercises and went back to my dance classes & practice. It took a while longer to actually get back "up to speed", but it all helped keep me in shape.

I think that you should discuss your worries with your dr and follow his/her advice.

Best wishes.
