How do I go back?
Ok, ladies, I just posted about pain in my left side. I realize from your comments that I have probably been overdoing it. So how do I go back to relaxing more? My DS and DD want me waiting on them, my DH will do things but not on my time schedule. He lets things sit until I can't take it any more. I have been cooking, doing laundry and some cleaning since week 3. The only rest I get is a couple of hours at the pool when my kids play. Even those aren't always restful. Now I think my hormones could be out of whack too--I am totally irritable and cranky tonight. Please let me know how I fix the predicament I have gotten myself into!!

How do I go back?
HI carrot. you are not alone. I was soooo irritable this last weekend and headache. Thinking it was suppose to be my period, missing the bleeding. It is hard to go back to resting but you are just going to have to. I had my TAH on 5/7 and I really haven't done much on some days and others I have. Sometimes i feel guilty but that is just the way it is going to be. ps...i always took care of everything at home....everything!!! and the house has managed. Just step back and let some of it go. They probably won't even notice!

How do I go back?
Maybe a family meeting - in your doctor's office if possible.
Do you have a speaker phone so you could arrange a time for your doc to call, and have a "meeting" that way?
Or - do you have a friend or relative you can stay with?
The Checkpoints here might be worth printing out, all of them. Then have your DH, at least, read them.

How do I go back?
Hey Carrot! I gotta tell ya. My dh was great during my recovery and i love him to death...but...he doesn't do things the way I do or expect them to be done. Hard as it was I had to just let it go. There were a couple of time he caught me cleaning after he had and asked me wht i was doing. I had to tell him, it's not done the way I want it done. He did try harder but it was easier for me to just learn how to let it go.
You really need to rest as much as possible. If you over do it and hurt yourself {God Forbid}, then who will they have to count on?
There is a section on this site for DH's. Maybe he can read some input from other DH's. In any case, make it clear that you are recovering from a serious surgery, and as much as you love them...you need to rest. Do you have a friend or family member who can help with the children?
I hope things change for you. Rest, take care of YOU and everything else will fall into place. Best of everything!
