Why do I want to cry?
Gosh! I don't know what is wrong with me.....I have no reason to be sad!
1. I have my ovaries. It can;t be lack of HRT that is making me sad.
2, I have two children, dh had a vasectomy after the second because she was too hard to conceive and getting pregnant caused us many tubal pregnancies before we could. I knew I was never going to have kids again, 6 years ago!
3. I am healing nicely....besides thrush today, a high fever last week and being on two antibiotics!
So, what is my deal? Why do I want to just sit and cry?
DO I need to completely get off the pain killer? It helps at night...are these making me emotional? I hate this feeling!
Anyone else cry and really have no reason to cry?

Why do I want to cry?
It is normal to feel emotional at this time. Hormones are still adjusting as your ovaries may be in shock. The anesthesia will take a while to get out of your system. Drugs can make you feel wierd.
Almost every sister feels a sense of loss after the surgery even if they had successful pregnancies or none at all (the feeling of loss is completely different, but it is still a loss) or whatever the reason for the surgery. Although you will feel well soon, it may take months or even a year to forget about this loss/surgery.
That's what I was told by friends who've had it, my doctor and many other sisters on this site.

Why do I want to cry?
I agree with may13 this is completely normal, you have been through quite an ordeal and you are not that far out in your recovery. I am still having bouts with emotions even though my night sweats and hot flashes have subsided, I am on low dosage HRT but my doctor told me it takes a long time to get the hormones right after surgery.

Why do I want to cry?
Teacherangel,
I am a teacher too! I had my surgery a week before you did. I have been feeling a "good cry" coming on for these 2 weeks now, just hadn't let it out yet. Well, my older daughter took me to my younger daughter's concert tonight, and that is when my body decided to let it all out. I started crying toward the end of the concert, and finally had to go to the car alone to really let it come out. Wow, I feel better now. My daughter's just couldn't understand what was going on...it kinda scared them.
These are all normal feelings....both my ovaries are gone, and I am on a hormone patch...so I think these things are adjusting too. Hey, don't feel bad about crying!!! You'll feel better afterward.

Why do I want to cry?
Why do you want to cry? Plainly put -- because recovery and major change both suck. Especially when they are thrust upon you via pain, exhaustion, stress, hormonal toruture, etc. I think it's more than 100% normal, and have been suffering major depression myself, thinking I will never be "normal" again - which is funny, as I wasn't normal before!!
If you can peg a trigger or want to just talk, please just keep posting.

Why do I want to cry?
I am so with you sisters. I feel like I've worn out my welcome with everyone's sympathy. I told my DH if I say I feel "OK" that is code for, well, I still feel like crap and don't want to do anything but I'll take a tylenol instead of the heavy stuff!! Overdid it this weekend and have been soooo poopie for 2 days!! Need to finish shopping but don't have the get up and go. Blah, blah, blah. Just broke the news to DH that we really have to wait the 6 weeks (unlike after birth of sons when I gave in 2 weeks out! LOL!)
Watching TROY on AMC. Maybe getting a Pitt fix will cheer me up.

Why do I want to cry?
I have had a few days like that and I am at 7 week post op. Today was emotional and a daycare grandmother called me to see how I was doing and I just began to cry, she was a big supporter to me when I went through the scary stage of waiting and afterwards. I just cried like a baby. Like you I'm happy things went so well outside of my bladder injury, life is wonderful, but a part of me is gone and that and your pain meds could be your culprit, It's ok to cry, cry it out and let it flow, you'll feel better. Wish I could be of more help to you! Hang in there
