Should I Keep Cervix?

Im not sure if you have ever had anesthesia b4 but it makes most people really nauseous/sick (even my husband who usually tolerates everything with no problem) so I also talked to the anesthes. about that & he said he could put something in the iv for that also. I never felt sick at all when I woke up which was good because with all of the pain meds they will give you, they can make you sick also, especially on an empty stomach, which mine was due to the 2 day bowel prep I had to do prior to surgery...speaking of if you have to do that as well, I was told that makes for a better surgery/recovery as well . I feel like Im just babbling on but honestly I had 2 laparscopies b4 this major surgery and my Dr had me do the same type of bowel prep & I personally believe it helped preventing the sickness so many women have after their procedures. My Dr swears by the 2 day prep (Id be happy to share what to do so u could talk it over with your dr if you like, just let me know) Again, best wishes!! and take care "

Should I Keep Cervix?

Please Ladies,

It's very important that you only do a bowel prep of any kind with your Dr's knowledge. There are different kinds of bowel preps because we are all different, and our surgeries and needs are all different. There have been women who have had their surgeries postponed because they have either done a bowel prep without their Dr's knowledge, or decided to use a different prep than what the Dr ordered.

For the record, I didn't use any bowel prep, and actually ate normal the night before my surgery. I didn't have any problems recovering, and seemed to recover at the same rate as those who had their surgery on the same day I did.

Again, please follow your Dr's orders regarding bowel prep. It's for your best.

s and Best Wishes,
Kay

Should I Keep Cervix?

My dear sunshine24, I know how strong you are & that you will be just fine. I was not able to have any of the hormone therapies due to my family history of Cancer. That said with losing my ovaries and tubes was the most difficult time. From what I understand the ovaries have a lot to do with the nerves and they keep trying to connect to the ovaries that are no longer present. That is what caused most of my nerve problems. Ask your Dr. about the cervix and if it is necessary to remove it. Be sure to talk specifically with your Dr. about the plan of treatment afterwards. You do after all have the same family history. I think and know that you are a real trooper and will pull through just fine. One thing to look forward to is the biggest gift of all, no more monthly! Yeaaaaaaaa, Dedreams
