RAVH-4 days post op-Vaginal Swelling & Pain

I had my Robotic Vaginal assist on Monday. Came home Tuesday Evening. I am taking 600 mg motrin every 6 hrs & still taking percoset- now every 5 hrs as I will run out tonight.

My stomach area is doing pretty good. Had the shoulder gas & backpain for about 24 hrs.

My worse pain is the vaginal area. It is very swollen & painful. Even on my pain meds It hurts all the time. I can tell when it is an hour before my pill dose time.
I am using an ice pack & that does help.
Peeing is hard to do. Although I am going. Its very painful.

I am taking it very easy. Resting & walking around the house about every hour.

I think I am mainly wondering if this is a normal side efect of the surgery...As it wasnt on my post op papers as a side effect. I talked to my Dr yesterday & he wasnt too concerned.

Others that had this? How long before the pain & swelling got better?
TIA

Re: RAVH-4 days post op-Vaginal Swelling & Pain

i would think that could be a normal side effect from having the surgery vaginally. try to keep the swelling down as much as possible with ice and taking motrin on schedule. if youre still having pain when peeing, you should probably get your urine checked for a uti.

Re: RAVH-4 days post op-Vaginal Swelling & Pain

Yes, it is a normal side effect of surgery. I had to take it easy for 6 weeks post op and I had the same kind of surgery. I wasn't better until 6 weeks post op-swelling. Pain went away 2-3 weeks post op. I did get sore if I kept getting up and down. I'm 7 weeks post op and I feel amazing! I'm so happy I had the surgery using the daVinci!
