Bitterpill:
Where did you hear about this "running the bowels" stuff? Does that mean I can forego my colonoscopy? Hah!
GFae:
I just talked with my relatives and we are putting it off for a few more weeks... I had just gotten out of bed and my belly is still swollen...so I guess that was for the best.

Enjoy your quiet time at home, you will be back in the thick of activity before you know it! I'm happy to say I did not need a bowel prep for my TAH, but I did have a screening colonoscopy a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared! Won't need another exam like that for 10 years, yeah!

It means the surgeon's going to feel and look at the outside of the intestines (they expose the ones laying in the general area of the uterus). I have a family history of colon polyps and endrometriosis, and my own diagnosis of uterine cancer so he told me he would be "feeling around in there" for masses and looking for lesions. Nice picture, huh? Maybe TMI? It was somewhat disturbing to me, anyway. Should have just kept my mouth shut and not asked so many questions. I am my own worst enemy.

What is that... even when we are down and out for the count, we feel like we need to entertain... At any rate... I have rescheduled.... hope no-one was offended, but like everyone says, "we only have 1 chance to recuperate".... Thanks again .

The visit has been put off for another 2 weeks... I will have to have them at that time or they might disown me... I went out for dinner last night for Valentines day... Got into the house and went straight to bed. I think my belly is waking up (nerve-wise) from the surgery... It is now painful by the incision, rather than numb...
