When does the first bowel movement come?

This was a BIG problem for me, I didn't have a "normal" BM for 6 days after my surgery. I either suffered from gas, constipation (that hurts!) or diarrhea and I know it was because of my pain meds. Eat apples, raisins, bran cereal etc.

HAHAAH okay that snapped me out of a few seconds of my depression you leaning over the bed farting away!!! HA LARIOUS!!! Oh the giggles hurt the tender tummy, but thank you so very much!!! And yes mine hurt like crap (no pun intended) but it did, and i have had the opposite no meds neccesiary for it. Glad everything came out okay sister.

YAY!! I had a mini pooh at the Castle,(9 days ago) but had a very non-co-operative bowel since then-I did what fet like a real poo this morning!! 11 days post op!!, bit scary but I think I'm thinner now!!

It will get better and better from here out, and before long bet you'll be on your normal routine, it just wont hurt as much! Lynn

Boy, these poop threads just can't be topped! I had a Fleet liquid product that you drink at the castle, it was really salty, then you chase it with more water. I just could not pass any gas (for 4 days!), none at all...after the fleet drink it gave me bad runs really watery, then got all the plugs out it was really nasty.....very appreciative to the people at the castle who cleaned my restroom..it was horrible anyway that product did the trick, and I went home in the morning, been keeping up with stool softeners and fiber therapy, it hurt at first but after 3+ weeks everything cleared up and all better now!
