Help please!! Can't think straight after op

Hi ladies

It's about 10 weeks now since my op everything has gone ok & healing well I've started back at work & gym but problem is I feel like I've had my brain removed not my uterus! I feel like I can't think straight & in doubt about everything & actually don't know what I feel about anything anymore nothing seems normal, I even finished with my long term partner yesterday cause I thought it was what I wanted only to wake up this morning regretting it.. I think!!! Anyone else feel odd like this after their op??

Re: Help please!!

Most likely hormones. When my estrogen is low I have terrible brain fog. It's embarrassing when I'm talking and I can't remember a simple word. You might want to talk to your dr. Unbalanced hormones are no fun.

Re: Help please!!

Me too!!! Great recovery, healed very well but brain not quite what it was - yet. I'm putting it down to the anesthetic and what my body has gone through since surgery almost 10 weeks ago. If it doesn't improve I'll chat to my GP about it but I'm not overly concerned yet.
Hope you are able to think a bit clearer soon

Hey Tanz23!

I went to my doctor and complained about my brain fog. She told me it was more than likely the general anaesthetic but that it can also be due to not having my ovaries anymore (Can't have HRT due to medical history, so brain fog hopefully will get better on it's own or at least improve, even a bit.) I also complained about my eyesight not being as good as pre-surgery and she said that sometimes the G.A. can do that too. So I had to wait for at least a couple of months before I go back to my optometrist for a new prescription for glasses.

I hope you start to feel better very soon princess. Hang in there and take care. It does get better!!!!! xoxo.

Hugs galore, xoxo.

I felt that way for a good 3 weeks post tah bso. I felt like I was drinking ..felt buzzed all the time. I can't take HRT either but at 2 weeks started natures bounty multivitamin for women 45+. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not but by 4th week that feeling went away!

Hi Tanz23, It is quite common to feel like you have a 'fuzzy brain' for awhile after surgery. I felt like I couldn't focus on anything and I was sure I was loosing my mind! It could be a combination of effects from the GA and hormones. Even if you kept one or both ovaries they can go dormant for a period of time after the trauma of surgery. Probably best not to make any major life decisions during this time.
in there sweetie and remember - This Too Shall Pass.
