Newly Diagnosed

Hi ladies, I've just the awful news that I have a uterine prolapse at the tender age of just 40, I'm slim, do pelvic floors regularly, sporty and didn't have any sign of problems until 2 months ago when tampons began to hurt and I have this uncomfortable feeling. Not sure how long it's going to take for cervix/uteris to keep falling - as this seems to happened really quickly, so worried when Dr didn't refer me and said just wait for symptons to get worse - and you're probably in for a full hysto in about a year or two.

I couldn't believe it, so paying to go to a specialist and find out my options, as I'm having difficulty walking now, so goodness knows what a year will do, especially as we're moving house and country shortly to build a house and I want to be able to help do this.

So, I'm doing some yoga - reverse posturing - looks very funny upside down, but does help take soreness away, and apparently after a few months, it may slip back into position.

I'll let you know how I get on with specialist - should be in next week or so and just found this site, so interested in the options open to me.

I have some added complications of an artifical leg wearer for 25 years, so my womb internally has probably has some wear and tear that most don't experience, no kids, so good pelvic floor so the Dr says!, but my early menopause has probably set the ball rolling.

Concerned with so many failures and repeat operations as wearing an artifical leg that goes around my waist takes alot of effort and operations take a lot longer to recover from.

Any other exercises you ladies found useful to help?
J

Hi Blue-eyes,

I'm sorry to hear about the prolapse problems you are having. I didn't have prolapse, so I can't share anything from personal experience. However, we have quite a few members who are struggling with this now or have had problems with prolapse in the past. I'm sure others will be along who can share their experiences.

Meanwhile, we have many great resources concerning prolapse in our Resources forum. I did a keyword search on 'prolapse' and found lots of references. Here is a link to one source:

Prolapse Information

You'll find many other sources of information by clicking on the Resources button at the top of this page - then search on the topics that interest you.

Keep us posted on how your appointment with the specialist goes. Sending hugs your way.

Dear blue-eyes:

Welcome to HysterSisters You can find a collection of links about prolapse in our Resources Directory https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/lin...=browse&cid=27 Some of the links are for websites with message forums. Perhaps you are a candidate for a pessary to hold your uterus in place.

I hope you are able to find the right answers for you. I am sending huge cyberhugs
