Aarrgghh !

Good morning ladies, why 2 day before surgey do I have to start my last menstral flow ???? Glad i didnt throw out my personal products as of yet. BUT here is the question has this ever happened to any of you out there & have they proceeded on with the surgery ?

Also I not looking forward to the fasting tomororw ( due to hypogylemcia) but does anyone know what the latest time i can have breakfast till ?? 8,9am ??

I asked my doc at my pre-op about my period starting right before surgery and she said that it wouldn't cancel surgery. Oh, what we girls go through! Sue

During my pre-op appt with my doctor I had asked him what if things start up before surgery and he replied, "I'll put a quick end to that!!!". Nothing happened in the couple of days before surgery. Well, wouldn't you know, I was laying there in the holding room with my hospital gown on one hour before going into the OR and here came Aunt Flo!!! And it wasn't just spotting, it was gushing. Those darn fibroids!!! I was a bit embarrassed as my parents and husband were there with me, but felt relieved when the nurse told me it happens quite often. Anyway, Aunt Flo's visit shouldn't put a damper on your surgery date. Call your doctor though asap to make sure.

I tell ya.. I think Aunt Flo has a way of knowing when we are getting ready to throw her out the door!! She arrived for me as well, three days before surgery! Sure didn't stop my doctor either. Now I never have to have that ****** show up again! Thank goodness! lol Call your doctor to be sure but like the rest of us I doubt it will matter. Good luck!

jandrovett, unless I am misunderstanding you, you are not allowed to eat at all the day before your surgery? I was instructed to not eat after midnight the night before. Better check with your dr if you have doubts on what to do.

Hi all, And thanks for you much needed input. I called the dr's office and they told me it wasnt a problem that aunt flo showed up and that I could have breakfast any time before I start my bowel cleansing which begins at 1pm with Fleet soda and then the long awaited 8pm enema :-o
