TAH: Hysterectomy tomorrow 8/30

My TAH is scheduled for tomorrow, and boy have my nerves kicked in! Our finances are nil, stress levels are high, and now this! I know I need it but the timing seems to be off. I guess I'm just venting some. Good luck to everyone!

It seems there is never the right time for something like this but your hysterectomy is meant to help improve your overall health and well-being and I'm sure you are ready for that! You will do great tomorrow and we'll be here to support you through your recovery journey.

Oh yeah, it's okay to freak out a little .

I kept busy making freezer meals (you still have a bit of time to do that ). By the time the night before came, my nerves were the type like "Okay people, let's get this SHOW on the ROAD!" The morning of? The only thing that I was nervous about was The Man's driving .

Today, actually in a half hour, makes 1 week post op TAH. Can't believe how fast it went! I was absolutely terrified, bawling before I even left the house last Monday at 5 am.
The pre op nurses gets you cozy, they asked me if I had any questions before they gave me medicine - next thing I knew I was awake!
I expected the pain to be much worse, I get by on Ibuprofen! Best wishes, it'll be done before you know it. Your everyday stress will still be there, but rest while you can. Like my boyfriend said, there is never a good time for surgery.

I thought it was only me I have been having nausea all day, my mom says it's just my nerves.

Awww, last weekend I had a 2 day bowel prep. I was too hungry (hangry) to be nauseous. You literally are out like a light so fast, and then your awake and its done! My best friend told me to put in God's hands, but I carried that worry like my life depended on it!!

It can be rocky the night before...I was nuts watching movies all night knowing I had to get up 4 am...but you are in the home stretch

I'm scheduled for tomorrow too. Did my bowel prep today and I'm a little hungry. Have to get up at 4:30 a.m. to drive 1.5 hours to the hospital. It's almost 11 p.m. and I should be sleeping, but I'm having trouble shutting off my mind! It's great that I can connect with hyster sisters that are going through the same thing.
